Un-built Mackinosh - Designs for Today

Mon. 4 - Fri. 29 Sep 2017

£4.00 (£2.00 Concession)

Children Free

Free entry to all on Wednesday afternoons

We'll have the Unbuilt Mackintosh model of The Railway Terminus on display in the Mackintosh Queen's Cross building. We'll also be working with local groups to gather their thoughts and plans for their own designs for new buildings - taking inspiration from the superbly-detailed model of Mackintosh's (so far un-built) Railway Terminus.

Models of some of CRM's un-built designs have been created. We will have the model of The Railway Terminus on show in this, Mackintosh's only church, for the duration of the Festival of Architecture.

We're using this model as inspiration for a local group who will create their own architectural designs - and some will use 3D modelling techniques. The model will be on display throughout September, as will the work by local groups, as it begins to emerge.

Seeing the model of the Railway Terminus - in the surroundings of Mackintosh's Queen's Cross Church - is also a unique opportunity to contrast the built and the un-built
